Art on the Rocks

I made it to Marquette, Michigan Art on the Rocks.

The Harbor view was wonderful.

Everyone started setting up their tents. The event was not as well laid out as it had been in years past with lots of dead end rows and very difficult for visitors to find their way around. Many of the artist had had a tough week, because they had just finished the Ann Arbor Art Show in 100 degree heat. The breeze off of Lake Superior was a welcome addition to this event making set up a little easier.

My display tent for Art on the Rocks.

The crowds were light and sales were slow.

After the show the show I took a week off and toured upper Michigan. I ate a wonderful Pasty . If you would like to have the recipe for these wonderful Michigan treats click here. with real full tummies we decided to rest and take the scenic boat tour of Pictured Rocks.

A must see if you are in the area. I wished I had my kayak with me. Another reason to come back again just for the fun of it.

Now it is time to get back to work. Here are a few of my Daily Paintings that can viewed at Art Prize 2011.

Looks like a good time. Too bad sales were slow. I guess the recession has hit everywhere and everyone. :( It's nice you could do some sightseeing. I must try to talk Terry into that. :)
