The Things We put into Fruit Jars

Hydrangeas in a Fruit Jar
Hydrangeas in a Fruit Jar, painting by Delilah Smith
About This Painting: When I was in Ireland it seemed like everywhere I went I saw Hydrangeas. They were the largest I had ever seen and so many different colors. I feel in love with them there and the romance goes on.

I am always amazed at the things that I put into Fruit Jars They seem to work so well for Just about everything, from drinking out of them to a collection of buttons. When I was a child my mother would put ice water in the jar and tighten the lid down so I wouldn't spill it and send me back the lane where Dad was working in the hot field. His eyes would light up when he saw that fruit Jar of Ice cold water coming his way.

Today I just like to paint them. Woops forgot I have some with paint brushes in.

What about you, what kind of collections are in those fruit jars on your shelves? Anything interesting to paint?

The painting is lovely. One of my favorites. I put lots of things in fruit jars, too. :)

Beautiful painting! There is a certain charm with fruit jars. I think the remind me of childhood since my family often canned our garden foods.
